Almost Night

…the city never sleeps…we aren’t allowed…marathon…pressure to keep going, moving, thinking…can’t slow down…exhausted…can’t go on…I must whisper words of inspiration, motivation, fear…like a drug…to keep going….can’t miss anything…help me go on…drunken haze…I must…it won’t let me…you won’t let me…if I drop…will you catch me?…if I catch you…can I carry you?…almost night…on the run…let’s go further…further…quickly…I can’t…but we have to…almost night…don’t want to miss a thing…

Almost Night is a contemporary dance work inspired by the sensual and subtle differences we experience as the daylight hours magically become night, especially as observed in an inviting urban environment. Life pulses with electricity, anticipation, and liquid energy as people shed their inhibitions in the shadows.
