Dialogues – Tokyo
October 2012
Tokyo, Japan
In October 2012, Paras Terezakis was invited to Tokyo, Japan, by Modern Ballet Matsuda to conduct a week of workshops.
The purpose of this first exchange between Modern Ballet Matsuda and Kinesis Dance Somatheatro was to further contemporary dance in Japan using Kinesis Dance’s most recent production Box4 as a foundation for research, development, and performance.
The exchange then continued in 2018 when Paras was invited to Warsaw, Poland by The Movement Foundation under Takako’s incentive, and in 2019 when Takako came to Vancouver, BC under Kinesis Dance somatheatro’s invitation. From these cultural exchanges was born the concept of Debris Afloat.
