Inspiration for In the Blink of an Eye comes from the mythological tale of Daedalus and Icarus. It is not a literal telling of the story, but rather a study of its inherent metaphors – the notion of flight, exile, falling, balance, faith in a vision, loyalty and loss. The title also evokes sudden change; that split second of visual readjustment and of time lost and time discovered, the expectation of change, as well as the fresh look of something and the possible blur of view or focus.
Terezakis is fascinated with movement in relation to space: how small gestures initiated within the inner world of the body, slowly move and unfold into larger movement phrases, which are unpredictable and create an emotional impact.
